On December 11, the annual Energy Outlook 2026 conference organized by the UNIMOT group of companies took place in Warsaw. Senior analyst of Consulting Group “A-95” Artem Kuyun delivered a report on the topic “Experience of the Ukrainian fuel market in extreme conditions”.

In February 2022, Ukraine lost 95% of its fuel supplies, but the market was stabilized within 3-4 months. I gathered the actions taken by Ukrainian authorities and fuel market operators that sped up recovery, as well as measures whose early implementation would greatly ease the market’s burden during such a crisis,” noted A. Kuyun.
He also moderated the discussion panel “Protection of energy infrastructure – what the war in Ukraine should teach us.” The block was also attended by Adam Sikorski, the founder and chairman of the board of UNIMOT, Nathan Reich, the energy attaché of the US Embassy in Poland, and Professor Bohuslav Pacek, a retired major general of the Polish army.
The participants of the discussion panel, in particular, discussed ways to strengthen state energy security in crisis, US energy policy as a tool for supporting allies, adaptation of the EU legal requirements to modern conditions, etc.

According to A. Kuyun, the results of the discussion confirm that the pace of Poland’s adaptation to the hybrid war that is already underway and possible escalations remains low both at the state and the private business level.
It is absolutely clear that the most effective and affordable way to protect energy infrastructure in Europe is to increase military support to Ukraine. The consequences of our defeat or signing a fragile peace treaty could be disastrous for Europe and Poland most of all,” A. Kuyun noted at the end of the panel.
The Energy Outlook 2026 conference was attended by over 400 participants from private companies, government agencies, experts, and analysts. Speakers included Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Roman Andarak (online), Ukraine’s ambassador to Poland Vasyl Bodnar (online), Bundestag member Michael Kellner, former US Ambassador to Poland Mark Brzezinski, and President of the Polish-American Chamber of Commerce Jim Mazurkiewicz, among others. Besides geopolitical issues, attendees discussed the energy transition. Specifically, Professor Karl Rose gave a report on the current state and grim outlook for green energy development, while American journalist Vince Beiser addressed the environmental and technical aspects of electric vehicle production and lithium battery disposal.
