
A comprehensive analysis of new challenges to global energy security will be presented at Petroleum Ukraine. Warsaw’25 by Ronan Gramm, Senior Energy Security Analyst at the International Energy Agency (IEA).

In his report Ronan Gramm will outline key aspects of energy security in the world in modern conditions. Among the topics he will cover are:
– rethinking the role of strategic oil reserves;
– transforming the demand for motor fuels (gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, hydrogen, electricity);
– security in the new “Era of Electricity”;
– integrating renewables;
– securing critical minerals for clean technologies;
– protecting against cyber threats and the consequences of extreme weather events.
“We see how rapidly the requirements for supporting energy security are changing both at the national and private levels. In this context we are studying the experience of Ukraine with interest,” notes R. Gramm.
As reported, the block dedicated to energy security will also feature OPIS Senior Analyst Jamie Linares and Professor Karl Rose. They will share their vision of the prospects for the stability of diesel supplies to the EU market and “green” initiatives in Europe.

Ronan Gramm is a Senior Advisor on Energy Security at the International Energy Agency (IEA). He has held this position since August 2024. Prior to that he served as an advisor to the IEA from 2021 to 2024.
Before joining the IEA Gramm spent more than seven years at S&P Global, where he served as Deputy Director of Commodity Research (2019-2021) and Principal Analyst and Consultant (2015-2019).
He has significant experience in the field of commodity market analytics, energy policy, and strategic planning in crisis situations.
